Purpose:
Determine a band's leader by analyzing a publicity photo.
Disclaimer:
A band's inclusion on this blog reflects neither an endorsement nor a criticism of its music. This post is merely intended as a spotlight on the inner political workings of a collection of individuals who are in the midst of a cooperative, creative endeavor.
The Process:
You, dear reader, please answer the question, "Who's in charge here?"
After sufficient discussion has taken place, a verdict can then be passed based on a majority vote.
Band: Village People
Genre: Disco
Website: http://www.officialvillagepeople.com/
Voting ends on: Monday, October 20th, 9:00am CST (GMT-5)
THE VERDICT (Updated!)
Voting has ended. Here is the tally.
No One - 2 votes
Officer Fabulous - 6 votes
Hirstute Harry - 2 votes
Hardhat - 2 votes
The IR's Cowboy Doppleganger - 1 vote
You have the right to remain disco! If you give up that right, your lack of dancing may be held against you! Officer Fabulous is in charge!

It's Officer Fabulous in the front - obviously, he is the law. Of course he needs to watch out for Hop-a-long Cassidy there on the left since he seems to be making a devious power play with his pistola.
I've always wondered about who was in charge of the Village People. I'm going to go with Hirsute Harry on the left there with the crotchless (!) chaps. I almost went with the Indian as he is clearly the most macho of all and on top of the People Pyramid.
I guess technically he's on the right as you gaze upon their stellar disco-ness....

Thankfully, each member is easily identifiable, so mentioning their correct placement within the photo is not as important as usual.
Highway patrol man, oh yes.
I shall now rest for a while to overcome this surfeit of stellar disco-ness.
front-n-center is too cool for school, therefore in charge. the other five are mere minions vying for attention with their frantic antics.
Front and Centre man. Has to be.
One of these guys looks a lot like me! Ha ha ha! I'm not sure what to think of that...
I recently took my son for one last game at the old Yankee Stadium. In the fifth inning, as always, the groundskeepers came out to sweep the infield and danced their ridiculous dance to "YMCA." There they were, a bunch of paunchy, middle-aged, married lawn guys prancing around to a song that, apparently unbeknownst to them, was the most famous gay pride disco theme in the history of popular music.
"Why is Derek Jeter ignoring the dancing men?" my son asked.
"Because they're a cultural nonsequitur," I said.
"Huh?" replied my poor, bewildered son.
"DJ's just concentrating on the game," I said.
The unstoppable march of the American pop culture Zeitgeist is in charge.
Wow, IR, now I am really curious. So which one looks like you? I vote that one be in charge :).
Good luck counting that vote, Splotchy.
no, i'm afraid to even think about these guys for fear of being sucked into that vortex of disco gayness.
Don't we have enough crisises in this country without dredging up that bleak past?
Why splotchy why?! why do you hate America so?

No, no, you're wrong about this post. When I featured the Jonas Brothers I was doing my "I Hate America" post.
This is my "I Love Gay Disco" post. And I do love gay disco, by the way.
Policeman in the front with the bigger helmet . He is in charge
I'll vote for the guy in the leather. Just cuz I like leather >:D
I like Construction Hardhat Guy. Let's give him a chance.
joe the plumber.
I'm bettin that cop has some handcuffs, so he's in charge in my book.
I love gay disco too!
And, ditto Jillian, IR.
Hmm, just saw Jillian's message...
Well, if he didn't have a moustache, I'd say the guy on the far left (cowboy dude) looks like me. I will repeat, however: I don't have the moustache. This is very important.
So I guess cowboy dude gets Jillian's vote, then?
