Syncopation

Purpose:
Determine a band's leader by analyzing a publicity photo.

Disclaimer:
A band's inclusion on this blog reflects neither an endorsement nor a criticism of its music. This post is merely intended as a spotlight on the inner political workings of a collection of individuals who are in the midst of a cooperative, creative endeavor.

The Process:
You, dear reader, please answer the question, "Who's in charge here?"

After sufficient discussion has taken place, a verdict can then be passed based on a majority vote.

Band: Syncopation
Genre: Vocal Jazz
Website: http://www.jazzsyncopation.com/

Voting ends on: Monday, March 30th, 9:00am CST (GMT-5)

THE VERDICT (Updated!)

Voting has ended. Here is the tally.

The Chick In Green - 8 votes
Lady In Black - 3 votes

Oh I am so happy to not have a tie. So, so happy. And did you notice how I still let A Jaded Girl vote after the deadline? Wow, what a guy I am.

Congrats to the Chick in Green!

The chick in green looks to be the glue holding it all together.

after applying the gray filter, all that stands out is chick in green and Dad's tie. Chick in green is also in charge.

Does the guy in the tie just seem like some random tourist who jumped in the pic at the last second? Either that or he's their music teacher/chaperone on the band trip from hell.

I'll go with the majority and say the chick in green - cause she has the best earwear.

Vocal jazz? Oh purleese.
It's the rabid looking woman in the green top, looks like she's had so much caffeine etc that no-one will be arguing with anything she suggests, the rest of 'em just look like they are here for the scoubbbidy-doos anyway.

Green Girl is in charge. No more ties! (either in voting or wardrobe)

I really don't know what Vice President Biden is complaining about. Article 1, Section 3 of the Constitution requires him to break ties in the Senate, and this duty can fairly be extrapolated to apply to ties in blog votes on band leadership (especially since ties in the Senate almost never happen). Stop complaining and do your only real job, Biden!

I think the lady in black, third from left, is singing the lead, while the other three are scatting behind her melody. Also, if you look at her stance in the photo, I think she's doing the Robot, which is sort of tragic.

My first thought was the guy in the business suit and tie was in charge. Then I realized it's a Jazz group and nobody in Jazz would ever wear a suit. Therefore tie guy has no clue what's going on and can't be in charge.

The gal in the hat and ring belt knows how to accesorize. She is used to the focused thinking and attention that leading people requires. Hence she is in charge.

The flamboyantly green chica is indeed the happy glue that holds this band together, but the lady in black pulls the strings, issues orders, and directs the general chaos. She is in charge.

The girl in green gets another vote from me.

I think the fine gentleman in the tie brought the band together but the chick in the green seems to be the unifying lead singer. Plus she's smiling too big because she wants to compensate for being in the middle.

The girl in the black - her body language seems to say she is in charge.

If it wasnt past the deadline for voting, I'd vote for curly hair girl because I likes her belt.

Anybody notice I was gone? Classes consume me this semester.
