The guy on the back step facing left. He's making sure everyone has clean shoes.

As with everything military related the President is in charge. Therefore it is the great Mr Lincoln in charge of this group.

the fellow in between the two drummers is in charge because of the suspicious amount of boobage that appears to be interfering with the buttons on his coat. he may actually be somebody's mother in disguise. definitely in charge.

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord,
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored,
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword,
His truth is marching on.

Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

Julia Ward Howe, lyricist of "Battle Hymn of the Republic," (not pictured) is in charge. Did this band even know any other songs?

Teacher hit me with a ruler...

The alternate "teacher hit me with a ruler/ruler turned red/teacher dropped dead" version is not officially credited to Julia Ward Howe.

But I knew that version before I knew the original.

I say drummer boy is in charge. They know they can't make him follow, so they let him lead. Funny thing is that they always end up down at some crick.
