Hi KIDS!
This blog has been around for a little over a year, so as a celebration this week I'll be providing FIVE entries (one per day, M-F) to vote on instead of the customary one.
Happy Voting!
Purpose:
Determine a band's leader by analyzing a publicity photo.
Disclaimer:
A band's inclusion on this blog reflects neither an endorsement nor a criticism of its music. This post is merely intended as a spotlight on the inner political workings of a collection of individuals who are in the midst of a cooperative, creative endeavor.
The Process:
You, dear reader, please answer the question, "Who's in charge here?"
After sufficient discussion has taken place, a verdict can then be passed based on a majority vote.

'Tis Murdoc, back row on the right. He's got a cape for Pete's sake. With a cape you are either the Leader or the Special Needs Kid.
Gotta be the dude (ape? zombie?) in the fez. He's got the only chair, plus he's weilding a whip, or a feather duster, or a green onion, or a paint brush, which must be the best they can collectively muster for a regal baton. The guy's got all the trappings of a king: throne, crown, scepter, plus a leopard skin pelt. Fez is in charge.
I'm gonna go with the skinny guy with sunglasses in the back. He's got that look. Too cool for school. He's the ringleader for this circus.
Monkey in the vest. Monkey trumps ape/zombie. Vest trumps cape (esp when worn open to show massive chest hair).
Blaniage makes me laugh. He/she needs a blog.
Splotchy--Can I suggest something? To have the comments open in a new pop-up window instead of a new page? That way one can type and look at the picture simultaneously. Just a suggestion, take it or leave it.
I'm voting Fez, with Blaniage.
Little chimp has my vote.
He's obviously in control of the biggest mass of muscle by virtue of his clear intellegence (hiding laughter). This puts him in charge of the whole group, wether they like it or not.
Even the artist fears his leadership a little.
Cartoon man in cape !
this one's more challenging. one member is the largest by far, one is sitting on another, one's presumably a girl, and all of them are wearing some item that could be taken as a symbol of power. but i vote for the only one who has eyes of the non-little-orphan-annie variety; mr. upper right.
monkey
Back row, left corner Zorro hat character, everyone else is messing around, though really I guess it's the animater artist person really.
The cartoon artist is in charge
"Oh yea kids will go ape-shit for zombie/monkey/apes"
Everyone seems to have missed the sheriff's star, top row, left. He's the sheriff and therefore in charge. Seated fez is the deputy, and the rest are the posse.
The deputy in the fez will someday rule this virtual band, but for now, he ain't happy, he's feelin' glad, he's got sunshine in a bag, he's useless, but not for long, the future is coming on. It's coming on, it's coming on, it's coming on....
I was going to go with the artist, but to be honest it looks like the characters have probably outgrown their creator. So I'm agreeing with Mcgone and choosing Murdoc, on the back at the right. His expression reminds me of Hannibal Smith from the A-Team, when a plan has come together. He loves it when that happens, you see.
Top right.
he has a cape, and looks like he's supervising.
Okay, this a group picture of the Gorillaz, my favorite band. The leader is Murdoc, their satanist bassist, who can never stay out of trouble. Then there is 2-D, the blue- haired pretty boy with the singing voice of an angel (f.y.i he isnt wearing sunglasses...his eyes are black, and the visor on his hat is causing a shadow effect on his face.. those arent sunglasses). then, there is Russel, the black guy who has ghostly white eyes because the souls of some of his dead friends are trapped inside of him. Then there is Noodle, who first arrived in a fedex crate at age 11, with a Gibson Les Paul, mad gutiar skills, and a vocabulary, almost all Japanese, with only one word of English... Noodle (hence the nickname). Anyway, if you want know more, go to Bing or Google and type in Gorillaz autobiography, or go to there website, www.gorillaz.com( oh, and the monkey on Russels back is Noodles smoking- pet monkey)
The mr upper right guy. (2D) he should be incharge because he's the awesomeezt
